Subscription Management

Current Plan

FieldScribe Pro -- $9.99/month with a free trial for new subscribers. Includes 100 minutes of recording per month, all work contexts, AI-powered summaries, and full export capabilities.

How to Cancel Your Subscription

FieldScribe subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. To cancel:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top of the screen
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select FieldScribe
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm

How to Request a Refund

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund for any recent charge. You can also contact us at bob@850Media.com and we will assist you through the process.

Restore Purchases

If you reinstalled FieldScribe or switched devices, your subscription can be restored automatically. Open FieldScribe, go to Settings > Subscription, and tap Restore Purchases. Your Apple ID will verify your active subscription.

Privacy & Data

Data Storage

FieldScribe is privacy-first. All audio recordings, transcriptions, and summaries are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, retain, or share your voice data or field notes on external servers.

Permissions Required

  • Microphone -- Required to record voice notes in the field. Audio is processed on-device.
  • Network Access -- Required for AI-powered summary formatting. Only text transcriptions are sent for processing; raw audio never leaves your device.

Account & Data Deletion

Delete All Local Data

To delete all your recordings, summaries, and app data from your device, go to Settings > Export Notes > Export All Notes first if you want a backup. Then uninstall the app from your device. All locally stored data will be permanently removed.

Request Account Deletion

If you have an account associated with FieldScribe and would like it permanently deleted, email bob@850Media.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." Include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 7 business days and send a confirmation upon completion.

Important: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure to export any recordings you want to keep before requesting deletion.

How does FieldScribe work?

FieldScribe uses on-device speech recognition and AI processing to convert your voice recordings into clean, structured field notes. Just tap Record, speak naturally about the job, and tap Stop. The app transcribes your audio, formats it based on your selected work context, and delivers a professional summary you can copy or export.

What trades or work contexts are supported?

FieldScribe currently supports Pest Control, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Home Inspection, and General Field Service. Each work context tailors the AI formatting to use terminology and structure relevant to that trade. More contexts are being added regularly.

Is my data private?

Yes. FieldScribe is privacy-first by design. Your audio recordings and transcriptions are processed and stored locally on your device. We do not upload, store, or share your voice data on external servers. Your data stays on your phone.

How do I start a recording?

Open FieldScribe and tap the Record tab at the bottom. Tap the microphone button to begin recording. Speak naturally about the job -- findings, conditions, recommendations, anything you would normally write up. When you are done, tap Stop & Create Summary.

Can I customize the summary format?

Yes. In Settings, Early Access subscribers can adjust Work Context (trade type), Summary Format (bullet points, paragraphs, structured report), and Summary Length (brief, standard, detailed) to match your workflow and reporting requirements.

How do I export or share my notes?

From the History tab, tap any recording to view the summary. Use the Share button to send it via text, email, or any app on your device. You can also go to Settings > Export Notes to export all recordings as a text file.

What does the free trial include?

The free trial gives you full access to all FieldScribe Pro features so you can evaluate the app in real working conditions. After the trial period ends, your subscription will begin at $9.99/month unless you cancel beforehand.

What happens to my recordings if I cancel?

Since all data is stored locally on your device, your existing recordings and summaries remain on your phone even after cancellation. You will lose access to AI processing features but can still view and export previously created notes.

Does FieldScribe work offline?

Recording and basic speech recognition work offline. However, AI-powered summary formatting requires a brief network connection to process. The app will queue recordings made offline and process them when connectivity is restored.

What are the device requirements?

FieldScribe requires an iPhone running iOS 16.0 or later. The app requires microphone access for recording. An internet connection is needed for AI summary processing. Approximately 50MB of free storage is recommended.
